Eyelash Extensions: Different Styles

Eyelash Extensions: Different Styles

Lash extensions have become the biggest rave in recent years. Every girl loves the idea of having beautiful and natural lashes first thing in the morning, especially if that means you don't have to deal with mascara (the application or annoying removal).

While eyelash extension might not be as cost-efficient or as versatile as false lashes, there are still tons of different options to choose from when getting your first set of extensions. Here at Doe Lashes, we know lashes, and we're here to show you all your options, as well as help you pick out the best lash style for your eye shape and desired look.

Talk To Your Stylist

The most important step to this process is properly communicating with your stylist what you're looking for. Something big and bold, or natural and simple? Just as if you're going in to get your hair done—your lash tech needs to know what your dos and don’ts are.

Every eye shape has an optimal style when it comes to lashes, and once your stylist examines your features, they'll know what to do. However, it's still good to have some kind of idea of what you're looking for before your appointment.

Cat Eye Eyelash Extensions

Cat-eye eyelash extensions are meant for all our doe-eyed or round-eyed ladies. This style uses longer lashes on the outside corner of the eye to make your eyes look bigger or more wide-set

Natural Lash Extensions

Natural lashes are great if you're looking for something more versatile and less over-the-top or expensive

This style follows the lash line with the longest lashes toward the two-thirds point of your eye. This style is there to enhance your natural lashes without changing the shape or leaving a super big difference.

Considering it's so simple, this style will work with any eye shape. It adds just a bit of oomph to your day-to-day look.

Staggered Lash Extensions

This style has a mixture of short and long lashes throughout. If you're looking for a fuller, more voluminous look, then staggered lashes are the way to go! Think Kim K or Kylie Jenner; their lashes are dense and voluminous while still appearing relatively natural.

If your lashes are naturally sparse and fine, then you may want to avoid this style. It can make your lashes appear a bit messy. Plus, it works better if you have some natural density to your lashes for your lash tech to work with.

Colored Eyelash Extensions

Colored extensions are definitely for the more bold ladies out there, but if you've got the confidence to rock it, then why not? These are common when people want to enhance their natural eye color; for instance, purple lashes would add an extra pop if you have green eyes.

While we think colored extensions are super fun and unique, they definitely require a pretty big commitment, so be sure you’ll be happy with seeing those colored peepers looking back at you in the mirror for quite some time.

Glam Lash Extensions

Like colored extensions, if you're choosing glam lashes, you're the kind of girl that isn't afraid to take fashion risks. Not everyone has the confidence to walk around their day-to-day life rocking full-on glam lashes, but we say—you go, girl!!

Glam lashes are fuller and much longer than your traditional lash extension. They're meant to stand out or draw attention and are usually paired with a glammed-out makeup look.

If you want glam lashes but just for one day, or a special occasion, then that's when a great pair of falsies should come into play. False lashes are great because the application and removal are quick and easy, but you don't have to deal with them after the fact if you don’t want a full glam look every day.

Custom Lash Extensions

Custom lash extensions are great if you really can't decide on what route you want to take. Just talk to your lash tech, and she should be able to formulate the perfect combination of long, short, and thick lashes that will best suit your face and eye shape.

If You Decided Against Lash Extensions

You may have made it to the end of this article and have decided lash extensions just aren't your thing; it’s all good. That's why doing a bit of research before a big purchase is important.

Not everyone is down for the upkeep or the commitment to one specific style for such a long period. If that's the case with you, then a pair of Doe Lashes are your best bet.

Just keep in mind that when purchasing your false lashes to remember your eye shape and what style will best fit them. Other than that, the false lash game is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory.

In Conclusion

Like we said—everyone wants to wake up to beautiful and full lashes every morning, but not everyone knows exactly what to ask for when getting their first self of lash extensions. Well, we've got you covered with this easy-to-follow guide on a ton of different extension style options.
